Trumpapalooza: Suggested Speaking Topics for Iowa Republicans
The Republican Party’s first-ever national midterm convention, also known as “Trumpapalooza” because of its unswerving focus on President Trump, opens today in Dallas.
The two-day production is designed to celebrate President Trump, energize Republican voters and convince Americans that everything is proceeding splendidly despite war, inflation, record fuel prices, healthcare losses and continuing allegations of corruption.
With more than 100 speakers reportedly scheduled, however, convention planners may still have room for a few of Iowa’s Republican leaders. Iowa411 respectfully offers the following additions to the agenda.
Ashley Hinson

Congresswoman and physician Mariannette Miller-Meeks demonstrates how to describe reductions in healthcare support as improvements to Medicaid, even as Iowa prepares for eligibility changes, new administrative burdens and the loss of federal healthcare funding.
“Lead With the Tax Cuts and Bury Details about Costs to Iowans”
Miller-Meeks explains how to promote the tax provisions of the One Big Beautiful Bill without dwelling on its effects on Medicaid, nutrition assistance, rural healthcare providers, Iowa’s state budget or the families expected to absorb those losses. Not to mention soaring energy and food prices, and the costs of the latest Mideastern forever war that was initiated by Trump.
Zach Lahn
“My Rigorous Lieutenant Governor Vetting Process: Everything I Learned After Selecting Derek Wulf”
Republican gubernatorial candidate Zach Lahn discusses the extensive vetting process that apparently did not uncover, or did not consider disqualifying, the lawsuits, unpaid debts, receivership, allegations of fraud and theft, and reported criminal investigation involving running mate Derek Wulf. Iowa’s six Republican members of Congress join forces to explain how generalized claims about prosperity, security and historic achievement can substitute for an examination of actual legislation and its consequences.
They will brag about how their slavish devotion to Donald Trump (and not so much for Iowans) led them to erase the Constitutional separation of powers, let the Iran War proceed unchallenged, praise the economically disastrous tariffs, support Trump vanity projects like the ballroom and arch, and preside over the most corrupt and dishonest period in U.S. federal government history.
Attendees will receive a complimentary list of approved phrases, including “delivering results,” “fighting for Iowa,” “restoring common sense” and the versatile “largest in American history.”
Closing Plenary
“Everything Is Going According to Plan”
All participating Iowa Republicans gather onstage to celebrate a congressional record produced amid war, economic instability, soaring fuel prices, healthcare disruption and unprecedented questions about presidential conflicts of interest. The presentation concludes with a patriotic video montage of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, assuming someone remembers to fill it.
Convention organizers are encouraged to schedule these sessions late at night, safely opposite professional football, when few undecided voters are likely to encounter them. Admission may be expensive, but the reassuring slogans, selective memories and missing details will be provided at no additional charge.
